WHAT RECORDIT PRO DOES

RecordIt Pro allows users to:

- Record screen activity as WebM video files

- Configure recording settings (quality, FPS, audio sources)

What We DO NOT Collect:

RecordIt Pro does NOT collect, store, or transmit:

- Screen recordings or screenshots content

What Data is Stored Locally:

The extension stores the following data locally on your device only using Chrome's storage API:

1. User Preferences:

2. License Information (for premium users):

  - License key

  - License validation status

  - Last validation timestamp

This data is stored in Chrome's local and sync storage and never leaves your device except for license validation purposes.

LICENSE VALIDATION

For users with premium licenses, the extension communicates with our license validation server:

- Frequency: Initial validation and periodic checks every 3 days

HOW YOUR RECORDINGS AND SCREENSHOTS ARE HANDLED

- All recordings and screenshots are processed entirely on your device

- Recordings are temporarily stored in browser memory during processing

- Files are downloaded directly to your computer via Chrome's download API

- We never see, access, or store your recordings or screenshots

- No data is uploaded to any server (except license validation as described above)

PERMISSIONS EXPLANATION

RecordIt Pro requires the following Chrome permissions:

- activeTab & tabs: To capture screenshots and recordings of the active tab

- tabCapture: To record screen and audio from browser tabs

- downloads: To save your recordings and screenshots to your computer

- storage: To save your preferences locally on your device

- offscreen: To process recordings in the background

- scripting: To inject floating controls during recording

- notifications: To notify you about recording status

- alarms: To enforce time limits for free tier users (3-minute limit)

- host permissions: To allow recording and screenshots on any website you choose

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

The extension connects to:

- License Validation API (subscription.codespeedy.com): Only for verifying premium licenses

- No analytics services

- No advertising networks

- No third-party tracking

DATA SHARING

We DO NOT:

- Share your data with third parties

- Sell your information

- Use your data for advertising

- Transmit your recordings or screenshots anywhere

USER RIGHTS

You have complete control over your data:

- All settings can be modified or reset at any time

- License information can be removed by clearing extension data

- Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

RecordIt Pro does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension is not directed at children.
